Mrs. Lillian Lucille Melton, 91, of Dresden, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Melton will be Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Bowlin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again Tuesday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
Mrs. Melton was a retired houseparent for Boys Town in Memphis, TN and a member of the Dresden Church of Christ. She was born July 28, 1922 in Weakley County, TN to the late James and Nettie Cooper.
Mrs. Melton was the widow of Herbert Harold Melton. She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter, Larry Melton and Charlotte Melton Finley, one grandchild, one sister and six brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Jay) Green of Dresden, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
