David Henderson

David Moore Henderson, 74, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Palmersville and Jackson, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Tennessee Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with interment to follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.

Mr. Henderson was born March 24, 1939 in Palmersville, TN to the late Thomas Masyl and Anabel Kilgore Henderson. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran attaining the rank of Airman First Class. He was a retired plant supervisor for Maytag and Kilgore Manufacturing.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his son, Gary Shannon (Melodie) Henderson of Smyrna and daughter, Susan Embrey of Strasburg, VA.

Sadie M. Lamb, 63, of Dresden, TN died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her residence in Dresden. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Dresden Pentecostal Church on Hwy 118 in Dresden, TN with burial following in McClain’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Lamb was born January 30, 1950 in Martin, TN to the late Frank Lee and Ruby Rainey Mansfield. She was a Minister of the United Pentecostal Church, a former employee of Stetson Boot Company, a former CNA and housekeeper at VanAyer Manor Nursing Home, and a member of Dresden Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Ola Bell Wright Mansfield.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by her husband, Edward Lee Lamb of Dresden; two daughters, Cynthia Marie Lamb, and Stephanie M. Staples, both of Dresden; four grandchildren, Austin Blake Ellis, Alyssa Page Staples, Matthew Wyatt Staples, and Carson Lee Staples; two brothers, Robert (Jessie) Mansfield of Dresden and Frankie (Brenda) Mansfield, Jr. of Sharon, TN; and a sister, Mildred Ann Henley of Dresden.

Loretta Watts Tate, age 74, of Sharon, TN. died Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Tate will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Pisgah United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday night at Bowlin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Thursday the body will lie in state at Pisgah United Methodist Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Tate was born in Cook County, IL to the late Elvis and Maudie Bennett Watts. She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and a retired secretary in the University of Tennessee at Martin International Student Program.

Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sid Tate Sr. and a son, Richard Daniel Tate. She is survived by a son, Billy (Deborah Ann) Tate Jr. of Sharon, TN; and one grandchild, William Daniel Tate of Texas.

Ms. Carr was born May 31, 1943 in Covington, TN to the late Mode Oliver and Orell Russell Jones. She was a retired Scholarship Coordinator at UTM, Baptist by faith, and attended Grove Hill United Methodist Church where she served as pianist.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ted Carr, a daughter, Sherry Hunt, sisters; Lois Jones and Frances Simpson and brother, Malcolm Jones. She is survived by her son, David Hunt of Arlington, TN, daughter, Lisa Woods of Dresden, grandchildren; Bo Hunt, Amber Woods, and Misty Elder, great grandchildren; Luke Hunt, Everly Hunt and Alyssa Elder, brothers; Mode “Mokey” Jones, Morris Jones, Harry Jones, and Larry Jones all of Covington, TN, sister, Lee Hawks of San Diego, CA and special friend, Jerry Kelley of Dresden.

Mr. Bates was born February 19, 1958 in Greenfield, TN to Joe Ray and Martha Lynn Crocker Bates of Martin. He was the owner of The Keg Restaurant in Fulton, KY and Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his son, Joey (Ashley) Bates of Mayfield, KY and stepdaughter, Shonna (Josh) McNeil of Patterson, LA, brother; Steve (Amy) Bates of Martin and grandchildren, Adelynn Bates, Makenlee, Jagger and Sophie McNeil.

Miss Garner was born October 11, 1938 in Martin, TN to the late Floyd and Alma Lee Ellis Garner. She was a former member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Siloam General Baptist Church. She was a retired packer for Wormser/Sharon Manufacturing Company. Miss Garner is survived by a host of cousins.

Bethany is survived by her husband, James Donavin Mills, parents, Steve and Tina Boyd, sisters; Miranda Scott and Natasha Boyd, brothers; Landon and John Scott, Josh, Austin and Stanton Boyd, grandmothers; Ailene Gammill and Dorothy Boyd, father and mother in law, Larry and Dawn Mills, sister in law, Amanda Boyd, nieces; Lilly Boyd, Dallas Crittendon, Kayleigh Mills and Shaelynn Rogers, nephews; Andrew Boyd, Tyler and Cole Crittendon and Shane Rogers, aunt and uncle, Michael and Rhonda Kirk and first cousin, Sierra Kirk all of the Martin and Dresden communities. Funeral services for Mr. Dunning will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 am at Victory Baptist Church between Sharon and Sidonia. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again Saturday from 9:00 am to service time at 11:00. All visitation will be at the church.

Mr. Dunning was a factory employee and a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was born May 4, 1934 in Weakley County, TN to the late Roy H. and Bonnie Wiseman Dunning, Sr. He was also preceded by his wife, Ruth Ann Stacks Dunning, grandchildren Timothy Roy and Valene Marie and sister, Dorothy Pennington.

He is survived by his daughter, Lorrie (Tim) Edwards of Sharon and son, Kenneth R. (April) Dunning of Round Lake Park, IL, grandchildren; Elaura Ruth, Elijah Peter and Elan Everest Dunning of Round Lake Park, IL and brother, Richard Leon Dunning of North Carolina.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Brandon Sedlacek of Belleview, FL, daugther; Debra Lynnn (Dave) Carris of Chicago, IL, sister; Mary Sue Williams of Margate, FL and brother, Kenneth Hopper of Atoka, TN, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Melton was the widow of Herbert Harold Melton. She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter, Larry Melton and Charlotte Melton Finley, one grandchild, one sister and six brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Jay) Green of Dresden, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Faye is survived by her husband, Darrell Scott, whom she married September 6, 1980 and one daughter, Sarah Scott of Como, TN.

Mr. McDearmon was born January 15, 1941 in Metropolis, IL to the late Eddie McDearmon and Mildred Palmer. He was a retired personnel manager for Southern Source, a Constable, member of Masonic Lodge #99, a former Dresden police officer, a volunteer member of the ambulance service and a member of Macks Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Lee McDearmon of Dresden, Tim McDearmon of Paducah, KY, John McDearmon of Murfreesboro and Penny Boyd of Murfreesboro along with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Mark Hale of DuQuoin, IL and a sister, Beneque Hale of Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray Radford of Dresden and sons; Scotty and Keith (Mary) Radford both of Gleason, TN, five grandchildren and one great grandchild along with brothers; Joe King of Lansing, MI, Tommy King of Illinois, Dale (Judy) King of Puryear, TN and Neil (Mary) King of Dresden.

Mr. Crowell was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ann King Crowell and a brother, Dale Crowell. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Marie (Freddie) Crowell of Mayfield, KY and sons; Larry Dale (Penny) Crowell, Jr. of Dresden and Buddy Joe (Elisha) Crowell of Medina, TN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and brothers, Michael Crowell of Georgia, Ron Mason of Georgia and Don Mason of Dresden.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Lisa Jones Dever of South Fulton, TN; his father, Wayne Dever of Poplar Bluff, MO; his mother, Myra Elliott Dever of Dresden; two step sons, Brandon (Shawna) Palmer of Nicholasville, KY and Brent (Tammy) Palmer of Savannah, GA; two sisters, Angela Y. (Mitchell) Culver of Dresden, and Amber D. Adams of Dyersburg, TN; grandchildren, Brianna, Samantha, Lacey, Christopher, and Damien; and nephews, Brandon (Ashley) Culver, Jordan (Lacy) Yeley, and Christopher (Rachel) Culver. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Lillie Elliott and Freeman and Alta Dever.
