Wayne Renard McHaney, 42, of Dresden, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN. Funeral services were Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Sunrise Cemetery in Dresden. Mr. McHaney was born September 30, 1971 in Weakley County, TN to the late Billy Ray Farris and Eleanor Ruth Ford Lightner. He was a forklift operator for Goodyear and a member of Fuller Street Baptist Church in Dresden. He is survived by two daughters, Khalyah “Sissy” McHaney of Martin and Jasmine Taylor-McHaney of Gleason; a son, Kylan Winston of Martin; sisters, Dyan Panah of Dresden, Terri McHaney of Nashville, TN, Sheliah Mallory of Nashville; half sisters, Tammy Farris and Daphne Farris both of Sharon, TN; brothers, Howard McHaney of Dresden, Richard (Pam) McHaney of Greenfield and Tracy (Rhonda) McHaney of Gleason. He is also survived by two aunts, Ivy Jean (Earl) Tanner of New York City and Jean Bell Ford of Lansing, MI; and girlfriend, Tiffany Winston of Martin. He was preceded by uncle, Billy Ford and aunt Frances Irvine.

Mrs. Rawls was born June 30, 1920 in Weakley County, TN to the late George Wayne and Veda Dalton Rawls Peery. She was a retired seamstress for Kellwood Company and a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Rawls and sister, Bethel Chandler. She is survived by her daugthters, Aneta (Dwight) McDaniel of Dresden and Robbie Cowsert of Dresden, and son, Jerry (Karen) Rawls of Union City, TN, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren

Roger Dale Cook, Sr., age 65, of Dresden died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Baptist Health Systems in Paducah, KY. A memorial service for Mr. Cook was held Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mr. Cook was a truck driver for Mitchell Trucking Company and a member of Pisgah Methodist Church. He was born January 3, 1949 in Ridgely, TN to the late Everett Lynn Cook and Catherine Roberta Bennett Cook. Roger was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. Roger is survived by his wife, Theresa Catherine Ann Parrotta Cook of Dresden, sons; Jason Cook of Chicago, IL and Roger Cook, Jr. of Joliet, IL, daughter, Trisha Kara of Matteson, IL, stepdaughters; Amanda Warren of Dresden and Nichole (Brian) Delmont of South Fulton, TN; half brother, Jimmy Wilkerson of Seattle, WA and step brother, Larry Wilkerson of Chicago, IL along with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mildred Louise Glover Griffith, 90, of Palmersville, TN, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Thursday morning from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Griffith was born September 3, 1923 in Palmersville, TN to the late Otho and Crissie Etta Rickman Glover. She retired as an inspector at Mar-Kel Lighting and was a member of Union Chapel Church of Christ. She was baptized at the age of 17 at Zion’s Hill Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Basil Ivo Griffith. Mrs. Griffith is survived by a daughter, Linda French and companion Wade Mansfield of Dresden, TN; a son, Gayle (Ginny) Griffith of Paris, TN; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Glover Frye of Dresden, TN; a brother, Eugene Glover of Dresden, TN; and her companion, Walter Fagan of Palmersville, TN.

Mrs. Westbrooks was born October 13, 1949 in Jackson, Michigan to Elmira Miller Munro and the late Fredrick Munro. She was a former teacher in Weakley and Obion Couny and Fulton, KY. She was the coordinator for TN State Early Headstart Program and a member of Bible Union Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Lee Westbrooks of Martin, daughters; Kari (Teddy) Smith of Martin and Angie (Dale) Ross of Troy, TN, stepson, Clayton (Amy) Westbrooks of Milan, TN, three grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Elmira Munro of Onondaga, Michigan, sister, Retha House of Raleigh, North Carolina and brothers; Mike Munro of Lansing, MI, Steve Munro of Onondaga, MI and Kevin Munro of Albion, MI.

Mr. Westbrook was born July 3, 1917 in Dresden, TN to the late Bennie James and Georgie Taylor Westbrook. He was a farmer and a member of Dresden First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Faye Westbrook, brother, James Herbert Westbrook, Sr, and sister, Minelle Westbrook. Mr. Westbrook is survived by his son, David (Paula) Westbrook of Jackson, TN, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife, Maritza Umana Cross of Dresden, TN; and three sons, Michael (Tina) Cross of Murfreesboro, TN, Barry (Amanda) Cross of Jackson, TN and Joseph (Beth) Cross of Martin. Mr. Farmer was born November 5, 1920 in Benton County, TN to the late Thomas Mason and Dora Phifer Farmer. He was a County Supervisor for TDOT and a member of Adams Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Jean Rushing Farmer, brothers; Roy E. Farmer and Paul Farmer and one sister, Mable Edwards. He is survived by his son, Joe Wayne (Barbara) Farmer, granddaughter, Linda Farmer all of Dresden and sister, Retha Jean Wright of South Carolina.

Williams Van Skike whom he married December 20, 1941.

Mrs. Ward was the widow of Thomas Lloyd Ward and the mother of Neva (Billy) Skinner of Greenfield, Genene (James Edward) Jones of Dresden, Beverly (James) Foster of Paris, Pamela (Gregory) Evans of Sharon and Lucretia Ward of Nashville. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth (Thomas) Toney of Harvey, IL and Katrina (Lawrence) Lewis of Bellwood, IL, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was born September 21, 1939 in Dresden, TN to the late Rudolph and Annie B. Hayes Arnold. She was a factory employee for Kellwood Corporation and a member of St. James Church in Dresden. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, James and Thomas Arnold and sisters, Robbie Mae Smith, Christine Debro and Mary Dale.

Carolyn is survived by a son, Rickey (Beth) McAlister of Dresden; two daughters, Sherry (Lynn) Payne of Martin, and Christy Blassingame of Dresden; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Ted (Jo) Ivy of Ridgely, TN.

He was a claims representative for Farm Bureau and a member of First Baptist Church-Dresden. Darren is survived by his wife, Terrie Lynn Bailey Williams, sons; Payton R. Williams and Jeremy M. Moss, parents, Richard Dean and Diann G. Williams and brother, Derrick (Lisa) Williams all of Dresden.

Mr. Butts was born March 4, 1958 in Lansing, MI to Billy Ray Butts of Dresden and the late Wanda Faye Pinkston Butts. He was a laborer in construction and a member of the Dresden Church of Christ. She was a seamstress for Kellwood Company and a member of Palmersville Primitive Baptist Church. She was a 1936 Dresden High School graduate and married Lewis Aden Biggs in 1936. Mr. Biggs preceded her in death in November, 2007. She was also preceded by a brother, Douglas Brann. She is survived by daughters; Kara (Dan) Dunn of Union City, TN, Marie (Hugh) Nichols of Greenbriar, TN and Anita (Gary) Pagan of Peoria, AZ.
